"I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing." - Ezekiel 34:26
Recently, I have been feeling so blessed! So much so, that it's like everytime the phone rings there is more good news. I'm almost worried about it ending! Here are a few of the blessings I am very thankful for right now:
1. Joseph got a great MRI report!!! Praise God! But keep praying until there is no tumor left at all. prayforjoseph@blogspot.com
2. Kyle & Andrea got accepted into the 5th semester program in Michigan. This is a competitive position and only 20 students get to be accepted. HOWEVER, they have decided to spend their 5th semester in Dominica. Wahooo!!! I'm so excited! :) I had already cried twice just thinking about them leaving, so I am very happy about this decision. Daily Bread lives on!!!
3. Mom is coming on Sunday! I can't wait to introduce her to our life here! I've been just dying for some visitors! You can't ever truly understand what it's like here until you just see it and experience it for yourselves.
4. Ryan's parents get here on Friday! We will not be alone for Easter! :) I've been busy planning activities for us to do with our guests...they're going to be exhausted by the time they get on the plane to go home!
5. Ryan did fabulous on his Gross Anatomy practical! Even though he has tons of tests, I want to be sure to be thankful for every good grade he receives! Next week is a big week as far as tests go, so please say a big prayer for him!
6. I just found out last night what our tax return will be! No, I can't tell you what it is (that would be rude of me), but I can tell you that I am very thankful for it. Not to state the obvious, but Daily Bread isn't bringing in enough $$$ to pay for all our expenses here!
7. I found out some more good news about Adam last night. He has many opportunities right now (just got into another law school). Say a prayer for him that GOD will lead him where he should go.
8. We have tortilla chips on the island again! We have chips, period! There has been a chip drought for about 6 weeks. I even tried to make tortilla chips twice, but it just wasn't the same. Yesterday, I turned a corner in the grocery and let out a huge gasp (of excitement). I bought 10 bags of chips!!! This is the 2nd chip drought we've had in the 6 months we've been here and the chips don't expire til July, so we stocked up!!! When Ryan got home last night and saw the mountain of chips on top of the refrigerator, he died out laughing! Ok, maybe I did go a little nuts.
In other news, I got ice cream in Roseau yesterday. So did a couple of the other spouses. I put it in Ralna's cooler because I forgot mine. We put our ice cream on the bottom and hoped for the best. When we got back to Picard Ralna just said she would bring my ice cream over later (since it was at the bottom of the cooler). She called last night and this is basically how our conversation went:
Ralna: I've got your ice cream
Ashley: How is it?
Ralna: I'm not going to lie to you, it doesn't look good. It's pretty bad.
I felt like she was a doctor giving me the info on a patient. Anyway, I think that both of our ice creams went to the garbage. Oh well, now we know we can't have ice cream unless we're going to eat it on the way home!
Tomorrow night RSO is having a big spaghetti dinner for the students. I'll be serving spaghetti for 2 hours. Then on Saturday we are having an Easter egg hunt and carnival for the kids. That should be fun! Then Mom arrives on Sunday and our busy, busy week starts! Oh, and say a prayer for Dad and Theresa who leave for a medical mission trip to Panama tomorrow!

Teresa and I arrived in Panama safely and we are preparing to leave for Cucunati. Take good care of mom!! Will check the blog again on Thursday when we get back to the hotel.
Love Karl and Teresa
Can't wait to hear about all your adventures with your mom! And that's great about Adam!
Allison and one of her roomates are arriving on Friday. We haven't seen her since Christmas and are very excited, too! She's been in Guatamala for a language class and will have lots to share. I'm sure shopping will be on our "To Do" list.
Have fun with all your company!
Love, Mel

Know you are so happy to have Ryan's parents and your mom there. Have a wonderful time showing them everything! Congrats to Ryan on a great grade this past week, so proud of your hard work!! And great news about Adam as well. We are thankful for great news this past week about Joseph, too! God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
This is my Spring Break week from schoo, wish I was down there with you all enjoying the "Nature Isle".
Love, Kathy
The chicken turned out great! I actually did it with chicken tenders and put it with a spinach salad and served it with a baked potato. Thanks :) Have fun with your families.
Ok the chicken was FABULOUS!!! Michael and I absolutely loved it!! We decided it's one of our new favorite meals now:) Have you ever marinated chicken in that mixture and grilled it? We were thinking that would be really good too. Anyway, thanks so much for the recipe!!
