He did it!! We did it!!

Today is Friday, March 25, 2011. Today is the day Ryan completed medical school. I feel like everything we have done the last 4+ years has been to get to this point. Talk about a long road – that led us from Nashville to Miami, then Dominica, then back to Miami, then to New York City, then to Atlanta, and, finally, back to Nashville! If I could have written out what I wanted our medical school years to look like it would have been a short (and much less adventurous) story. God had such different plans for us and I feel like I hit the jackpot by getting to experience these past four years with my best friend. I used to look at couples who met and married after school and think how easy that was to already be over the giant mountain when their marriage started. Now I see that going over the mountain together was such a blessing. I’m kind of speechless right now. I’m feeling so many things – mostly just thankfulness to God for leading us down this road and bringing us to this point. And just really really proud that I married such a hard worker who sets a goal and, literally, travels the world if that’s what it takes to finally say mission accomplished!

So, as most of you know, we are moving back to Nashville next week! Ryan will be doing an Internal Medicine residency through UT at Baptist hospital. Maybe someday soon (now that he is finished with school and can be lazy for a little bit) we can get Ryan to write a blog post and give you his take on this whole experience. :)
