Bad news first - Ryan's parents were scheduled to come visit us next Friday but, since his mom has been sick, they are going to have to reschedule. We were excited to have them come (our first visitors!) and get to show them the island, but we know they will reschedule! Hopefully soon!
Good news - Mom is coming!!! I can't wait! Dad is going on a medical mission trip to Panama in March and so mom is going to come see us. I've been trying to plan some fun things for us to do.
More good news - We got a package today from Ryan's parents! Thank you very much! We haven't opened the card yet...Ryan said we have to wait til Valentine's day.
Normal news- I've been baking, Ryan's been studying (that's not really news). Friday night we had dinner to celebrate Marissa's birthday. Mike grilled hamburgers and they were fabulous. We never really get a good burger here... and buns are almost impossible to find. I made some a couple of weeks ago, but they weren't light and fluffy like back home. RCF has been growing, so that's great! We had to move to a bigger location on campus. Today I was depositing the offerings for RCF and the lady working at the bank was asking me about church and said she was going to try to come this week. That's exciting! Today I went to the pool on campus after lunch with 3 other spouses and that was a lot of fun. This was the first time I have really been in the sun since school started. Tomorrow I am going to Roseau. That always makes for a long day (in a good way) full of shopping, traveling, trying to avoid getting carsick, etc. Keep Ryan in your prayers because, as we get further into the semester, there are more tests, practicals, etc. This is a really tough semester (in terms of his work load) - harder than last semester Ryan says. The weather has been beautiful here lately. I'm praying this will last as long as possible...I'm not looking forward to the hot, hot summer! What else is going on... Oh, Valentine's day is this week. Ryan and I bought cards for each other in the U.S. and have been hiding them. I can't find the card I got for him anywhere! I tore the apartment apart today and can't find it! Looks like I better buy some construction paper tomorrow in Roseau to make a card! Tonight Ryan had a TA session (which is like a tutoring session open to students) so he did not have time to come home for dinner. I took dinner to school (chicken parmesan and focaccia bread) and we sat out on the deck overlooking the water. Not bad for a quick dinner! We miss everybody and would love to hear from you! Either through comments, email, phone calls or mail (see address to the right). :)

Dear Ashley, Haven't read your blog in a while. Wow, you've been busy!! Love the name of your new business. What a great idea. Love all the pictures and videos, too. You are such a good writer. I was checking the site map for Joseph's blog earlier tonight and I saw Dominica lit up, I said a prayer for you and Ryan. It was neat to see that you were checking the blog when I was on it. It was so good getting to see you over the holidays...wish it could have been longer. Jennifer was sad she didn't get to see you. The pictures of the children with the books and aprons are adorable. God is using you to bring light and joy to those children. Bless you and keep in the Word. Rest and trust in Jesus. Love, kathy peabody
I check and read your blog regularly, but I confess -I haven't left but maybe one comment. Sorry, I'll do better. How else will you know I'm thinking of you? I know just living in FL how far I feel from family; I can't imagine what it's like for you both. Hey, we'll be neighbors when you move to Miami. I think it's about 3-4 hrs from us. I've never lived that close to family since 1982- and I'm still not used to it!
You really amaze me with all your baking and cooking with the little resources you have! Your mom is the best cook, so I'm not surprised. I know you are so excited she's coming. Ya'll will have so much fun. I laugh so much when Allison and I are together. She's going to Guatamala for one of her speech therapy classes in March, but will be here over Easter. I can't wait! And then, if all goes as planned, she'll do her summer internship here and live with us beginning in late May. We miss her SO much! I keep telling all our kids how I hope one day we will live in close proximity to one another (but not with us!), but they aren't too keen on FL. Maybe it will grow on them. Hope you have a great day! Love to you both!

What is it about the Warren sister's checking your blog today?! The "sisters" are going to make me look bad because I don't have any news. Brittany has surgery Feb. 14th torn ACL and other stuff. Wonderful Valentines gift. She did love the 1 and 1/2 days of snow skiing.
I always enjoy reading your blog. Blessings on you.
love,
norma
I found you!
Purple Turtle looked like tons of fun. I say we have a girls day out and swing on the rope :-)
