Waves on the West Coast??

Here are a couple pictures of the waves. I know the camera can't really show you how big they were or how loudly they were crashing. We felt like we were back in Cabo.

After sunset, we met Mike and Marissa at the Tomato. I wanted to post a picture of Marissa and me, but Marissa refused because she did not think it was a good picture. Oh yeah! I almost forgot to tell you what I did yesterday. Confession time. I did something that was wrong yesterday and I had to make it right. I worried about it all afternoon. I was grocery shopping and I reached down to get a carton of eggs on the bottom shelf (they aren't refrigerated). Well, they were stacked high, and not very well because when I picked up one carton, seven others fell down! I panicked and picked them back up. I wanted to tell the lady at the register, but there was only one register and a long line. I was super embarrassed, so I left! When I got home I wrote a long letter to the store and enclosed money for 7 cartons of eggs. Whew! I can finally sleep with a clear conscious!

Hey Ashley-

This is actually the second time I've written on your blogspot but the first time I wrote, I did something wrong and it did not go through. It was right after you were here a few weeks ago and I was just telling you it was good to see you at Harpeth Hills and that I was glad you made it back to the isle safely. I also said how glad I am that you and Ryan will be able to be here for Will and Jenny's wedding. Will REALLY wanted Ryan here for it (and you, too). Anyway, I hope this one gets posted.

I was in Jackson today with Jenny and her mom looking for a hotel to stay at the weekend of the wedding and a place for the rehearsal dinner. We looked at the Aeneas Building, the Carnegie, the New Southern Hotel, Madison's and the Country Club for the dinner. I loved the New Southern Hotel. It just has so much ambience and the size is just about right. The Carnegie seemed cold and the Aeneas too large for a rehearsal dinner. I didn't care for Madison's and neither did Jenny. The Country Club was really nice but I just like that the New Southern was old and warm feeling. I've blocked some rooms at the Double Tree for all out of towners who will want to stay and Will's groomsmen and family. They are getting married at First Baptist so the DT will be close. I really don't know why I'm telling you all this except that you said in one of your blogs you loved to hear from people, so, you're hearing a lot from me!

I wish you and Ryan could have been here for Jake and Ann's wedding this past weekend. It was really fun. Speaking of them, they are in St. Lucia right now. Since you asked for opinions about the islands, I'll put my two cents worth in. Roger and I have not been to St. Lucia, but we have been to St. Marteen (three times)and Barbados. I really like St. Marteen, could do without ever going to Barbados again, but Jake and Ann love St. Lucia. They actually called tonight on my way home from Jackson and said it is absolutely beautiful there. They are at Sandles Grand Resort. They flew into an airport that was about a two hour car ride to the resort so they took a helicoper to the side of the island they needed to be on. (They couldn't get a flight into the airport close to where they are staying.) Jake said it is the prettiest island he's seen in Carribean. Jake also has been to Barbados and St. Marteen so I guess he would know more than me. So, for what it's worth,I voted for you and Ryan to go to St. Lucia.

Well, I've rattled on much more than I needed to, kind of like I do talking, so I'll stop. Give Ryan my love and tell him I am so proud of him for studying so hard. Never thought when he and Will were in high school that he'd be in medical school one day or that Will would be getting an MBA. They finally grew up and I am extremely proud of both of them.

Looking forward to seeing you both at Christmas.

Elisabeth
