"Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!" 2 Cor 9:15

This is a picture of Andrea and me on Ross' campus. To the right is Subway and the bank and to the left is classrooms.
Even though yesterday was Thanksgiving in America, it was a normal day for Dominicans. We went to Savanne Paille and on our way the transport van got a flat tire. Our driver whipped out his machete (seems to be the tool that fixes everything here) and started jacking up the van (with us in it)! About every car that passed stopped to see if we needed help. That is one thing that is very different (in a good way) here. Any time I've been in a transport that overheated or had a flat, tons of people stopped to try to help. We ended up catching a ride with some people we knew so we didn't have to wait for the tire to be changed. This is a picture of Aaliyah. She is 5 and is hilarious! She had me laughing the whole time.
Everyone is in line to get stickers! It's a huge deal to have stickers here!

Hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday! We did! This week has been so busy, it's kind of all a blur. I 've been a cooking machine. I really appreciate Nana and all of our family members that have taken care of all of our holiday meals because now I know how much time went into it! I made about 200 pieces of fudge and I made little gift bags to pass out (see pic). I cooked for 10 hours on Wednesday! Plus, since we don't have a dishwasher, I had to wash practically every dish and utensil I own about 5 or 6 times. I was so tired! I was popping advil by the end of the day. I made 2 batches of homemade dinner rolls, 36 deviled eggs, 2 chocolate chess pies, homemade cinnamon rolls (I took to Ralna for them to have for breakfast today since I knew they would be too tired to cook!) and a hashbrown casserole. Andrea called me Wednesday night and said that she had run out of propane so she couldn't cook anything. She was having 8 people to her house for dinner, so she came to my house yesterday and cooked all day. She also had no water for a while! When she called to get more propane they were either out of it, or they didn't have a truck available to deliver it. This is just one of the normal, everyday things we deal with. Not a big deal anymore. Kyle came over and got our table and chairs to use for their dinner. He carried our table over his head, literally, over the river and through the woods! Ralna came over to pick up a lot of the food in her car so I wouldn't have to deal with it in a taxi. Ryan had class on Thanksgiving and lab and didn't get home til 5:30! We went to Craig and Ralna's and had a great time. They counted about 70 people that came (children included). There was more than enough food for everyone and I think everybody had a great time! We got home at about 9:30 and were going to go to Kyle and Andrea's for games, but we were exhausted! We just got in bed and watched Grey's (comes on at 10 here).
