Children of Dominica Update

Thanks so much to all who gave money! We were able to buy tons of school supplies for the kids! Remember that long list of school supplies I posted back in November? We bought everything on it except for puppets! AND...we still have money left! I'm going to wait until the semester really gets started and once I see where the needs are, I'll buy more supplies with the remaining money. The teachers requested aprons for the children to wear during their art classes so that they do not get stains on their uniforms. We could not find aprons for a reasonable price, so we made them! Mom, Marie (my aunt), Nana and I spent a Saturday afternoon making a bunch of cute aprons. Nana had to work several more days to complete all of them! We had a lot of fun doing it and I know the kids will be so excited to receive them!
Nana sewing away.
We all had jobs. Here we have Mom cutting the fabric and Marie is ironing the seams. (She received a few burns on her fingers from the steam.) Now mom is taking a turn at the sewing machine.

And Nana is on the ironing board...more to come in the next post!
