The madness so far this March

I'm not referring to basketball. If you happen to read this post today, please say a prayer for us. So far this month...
1. I had the biggest and longest ordeal with a health insurance company that my agent had ever heard of...and nobody even really knew why. Finally, one day before my current insurance was about to expire, I got covered under a new policy. Everything turned out fine, but there were a few very stressful weeks.
2. I was reviewing our online bank activity as I do nearly everyday and I saw a few charges that I didn't make and when I asked Ryan about them he had not made them either. So, even though we each had our card in our possession, someone was using our card number to make purchases. Thankfully, we caught it the first day (check your online activity often) and cancelled the card and Bank of America refunded us our money.
3. Yesterday (this is the big one) I was in the apartment when all of the sudden the lock turned and someone was coming in. I had just talked to Ryan and knew he was at a hospital nearly an hour from where we live so I started yelling "Hello?!" I had just returned from exercising and was not fully clothed so I was jumping around to get clothes on. When I opened the door there was a lady and a man staring at me with shocked looks on their faces as if to say "who are you and what are you doing here". He was the property manager and she was a realtor who was supposed to be closing on our apartment last night and the new owner was planning to move in today. Somehow, no one knew there were currently tenants living here! I think our landlord conveniently left that out in the attempt to sell the apartment. So, everyone immediately gets on their phones to try to figure out what to do next. Basically, we are being asked to move to a different apartment in the same building. Legally we don't have to because we have a contract, but it's kind of already turned into a nightmare and once that happens you might rather move than have a landlord you is really mad at you. So while Ryan has to be in class all day, I will be looking at available apartments, discussing terms (in order for us to go to this trouble they will have to make it less expensive for us), contacting the people we rent our furniture from to see when they would be available to move it (we aren't allowed to move it ourselves), and start cleaning and moving into a new apartment. What a headache!!! So, please pray that everything will go smoothly and that we won't feel pushed around of forced to move if we don't feel like it's the best thing for us. We are so glad that Ryan's brother is a real estate attorney and is able to help us deal with all of this!

So, that's our March Madness, and the month is not even halfway over!

Oh man! That's awful. I don't know if it's a Miami thing - but a lot of us (Jamie and I included) had some TERRIBLE experiences with our landlords. I'll be thinking of you today!!

Ashley,
We think that you are being very kind to move, but we would make them move your furniture ahd clean the new apartment and put a chain lock on your door or deadbolt lock.If someone has a key to your place now, you don't know if someone will next time. You are very sweet, but this is really putting you out. Don't let them run
over you.
Love Ya,
Marion & Lisa

Holy cow I don't talk to you for a couple of days and so much has happened. Good thing I checked the blog. :) Good luck with all the craziness. Hey, just one more place you can say that you have lived. :) Miss you!
