So cute! And too dangerous to blindfold and give a real bat to.

I love this picture because it looks like Julie is being bossy and I am giving her a look about it.

Proud of our idea to tie down the tablecloth, without sacrificing cuteness.
Andrea came to visit me a few weeks ago! It was SO good to hang out with her again! As soon as we picked her up at the FLL airport we ate a super fast lunch, picked up Rabbi and Lisa from the MIA airport and headed out to Gator Park.
We were very excited to watch the wildlife show and to ride the airboat out on the everglades to see real alligators. Well, after driving about 30 minutes to get there a huge Miami-type storm arrived. It was pouring. We were in the middle of nowhere. We each bought a $3 poncho, which was way, way thinner than any garbage bag. It was a waste of $3 because we were all soaked. We did watch the wildlife show, which was a letdown at the time, but hilarious now. The man had a very unusually high-pitched voice and he could not talk loud enough to be heard over the heavy rain. His show included a scorpion, which he pretended to trip and dropped right by Andrea and me. He didn't get any laughs out of us, and I can't imagine he ever gets laughs from that trick. He then pulled out a giant toad. Yeah, that's what we drove 30 minutes, paid $21 dollars, plus $3 for the poncho to see. A toad. He kept trying to get a lady to kiss it. That didn't go over well either. The next thing he pulled out was a skunk. What? That thing better have been drained of all of its stink juice. As he was holding it up he squirted water from a syringe on Andrea and Lisa...it went into their mouths. Of course, their first thought was that it was skunk spray. They didn't laugh at that, either. Poor man. May need to consider other career options. There may have been other critters, but they aren't worth remembering. On to the gators. There were maybe 8 or 10 gators, but only 1 big one that he "wrestled". Only, it didn't seem like alligator wrestling, it seemed like a strange man sitting on an alligator that had been drugged with lots of Valium. The alligator was not responsive. So then they informed us that the airboat tour was canceled because of weather and that they would not refund our money. So we all left with "rainchecks" to Gator Park. Can't wait to go back and cash those in! (Please note the sarcasm.)

Andrea and I just had a great time hanging out and not doing much of anything. We went to the pool, went shopping, ate a lot, and watched Steel Magnolias (she had never seen it!). We also colored each others hair. :) I'm so glad she was able to come and can't wait til we plan our next get-together!
